The Launton Handbell Ringers were founded in 1951 by the late Frederick Sharpe, the noted bell historian and campanologist.
Originally based in the village of Launton in Oxfordshire, the members now come from a wide area of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. The Team meets regularly for practices and recitals, travelling many miles in the process. The number of ringers in the team for any particular event varies from six to eleven.
Appearances have included recitals in cathedrals, churches, civic centres, theatres, societies, clubs and private functions.
The Launton Handbell Ringers have played on radio and television, and recordings of their music are available from members of the team or by mail order from the sales officer: - see CD page on this website.
The team celebrated their diamond jubilee in 2011.
